The fire from the industrial waste storage warehouse in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do, has been on for three days.

Thousands of tons of waste are built up inside the warehouse, so it will take longer to catch the flames.

The fire department has put 52 vehicles including pump cars and water tank cars and 388 fire-fighting personnel from an industrial waste warehouse in Non-Eung-do-dong, Gunsan-si from 11 pm to 9 am today.

Although the flames did not spread to the surrounding buildings, the waste accumulated inside the warehouse is still burning.

Waste in the warehouse is known to range from 1,500 to 2 thousand tons.

As of today, the third day of the fire, the rate of extinguishing is 35%, and fire officials say it may take up to a week for the fire to go out completely.

The fired warehouse was discovered to have been illegally storing wastes through local government crackdown last year, but it was found to have been left unattended.

Police and fire departments will investigate the exact cause of the fire and the extent of the damage as soon as the fire is caught.
