• WWDC.Apple says goodbye to Intel in an ambitious edition of its developer conference

Although ARM processors were the main protagonists of the Apple developer conference , during WWDC there was also time to learn about the news of iOS 14 , which is the first time widgets arrive.

Until now, Apple's mobile operating system has not allowed a great customization of the home screen and the 'widgets' (small boxes that show content without the need to open the application) were an exclusive function of Android, but this will change with iOS 14.

Apple also drinks from its own functions and will now allow iPhone users to watch videos on floating screens over other apps, something that iPad users could already do.

Additionally, other minor changes were announced, such as the fact that Siri no longer locks the full screen when listening to your commands. The wizard, by the way, has been improved and will now be able to translate text instantly and, they claim, completely private.

Apple's messaging system, iMessage , will also have new tools that will bring it closer to services like WhatsApp, with which it may not be able to compete in Spain , but it can in markets like the United States. Thus, it will now be possible to mention users or reply to specific messages.

Finally, with iOS 14 two very different functions come, but they have in common the world of mobility: improved maps and digital key . The former, on Apple Maps , will show routes by bicycle or electric car, while the latter will allow the iPhone to be used as a key to unlock the car. For now it is only known that BMW will have support for this function with which it will be possible, for example, to allow a friend or family member to open our car with their phone even though we are hundreds of kilometers away.
