The closing event of season 2 of Fornite foreshadowed it; the theme for the new season will be aquatic. Epic Games has released a new trailer to reveal the new features of season 3. The character of Aquaman, ski-shark and a cat in a humanoid robot are on the program, but the most remarkable is still the map which is now partially submerged.
If the launch of the device created walls of water around the island, the launch of season 3 caused the flooding of a good part of the map. Slurpy Marsh and Weeping Woods have disappeared, as has the Agency area which has been replaced by a fortified base. The water areas have therefore been multiplied, which necessarily leaves more room for water games, especially water skiing. The new season also introduces new aquatic activities, including being able to be pulled on the water by a shark as well as fishing.
New areas are also emerging, including Flottile, a sort of floating city and Rickety Rig, a waste recycling center.
Hidden surprises
All the novelties of season 3 are not yet visible, some are hiding elsewhere in the flooded areas. "Over time and the regression of the water, even more places will be discovered and as the roads open, you will discover new ways of getting around," teased Epic Games. “Real” cars should also appear in the game.
Finally, who says new season, says new combat pass. The latter will allow players to unlock new characters including Aquaman, the DC superhero, and Kit, a kitten riding a motorcycle. Customizable umbrellas will also appear.
