Tongyeong City has attracted attention as it has an outdoor public restroom for dogs.

On the 5th, Tongyeong announced on the 9th that four urinals for companion animals were installed at intervals of 5m on some sections of the walkway in Jeongseon-dong Yisunsin Park.

The 1m high pillar-shaped urinal has several round holes with a coating net installed so that the puppy does not bounce sideways when urinating. It is designed to catch urine by putting charcoal in the dust collector that removes liquid particulates.

A solar cell-powered light can be placed on the urinal to act as a street lamp at night.
According to Tongyeong, Yi Sun-sin Park is known as a good course for walking with dogs, and it is understood that about 100 dogs on weekdays and 200 dogs on weekends visit the park.

An official from Tongyeong said, "Unlike the stool that the owner directly handles, urine has no way to deal with it, so there is a case where ordinary visitors frown, and urinals for pets have been installed." As citizens' demand increases, we will create a warm city where pets and citizens live together.”
In March of this year, Tongyeong City, the first companion animal team in Gyeongnam-do, installed a dog's bowel envelope in six parks in downtown Tongyeong.

The city said it was planning to install more in major city parks after seeing the citizens' reaction to the dog urinal.
