In late 2019, OnePlus introduced its first connected TV. A diversification of activities that had not gone unnoticed in the international press. The Chinese company, hitherto specialized in the design of high-end smartphones sold at ultra-competitive prices, landed on a new market with the intention of shaking up the other players.
Six months later, OnePlus does it again. The Chinese company has just announced a new range of QLED 4K and HDR televisions, with an elegant design and hyperconnected features.
Pete Lau, the founder of the company, said that the new range of TVs from OnePlus would be more accessible than the previous one, with prices which should therefore drop below 900 euros. The teaser image broadcast by the manufacturer also evokes “smarter” televisions, with probably new features linked to the use of smartphones.
OnePlus hits the headlines in India
With an entry price of around 900 euros, the Q1 positioned itself as a fairly accessible premium model. Its big brother, the Q1 Pro was intended more for moviegoers with its entry price of 1300 euros, than the manufacturer justified by the integration of a sound bar.
Surprisingly, the two products had only been marketed on the Indian market, a country where the Chinese brand was extremely successful and which was probably used as a test market for this new category of products. If nothing has been confirmed yet, it seems likely that OnePlus connected TVs will one day be offered outside the Indian market.
It is also rumored that OnePlus will soon introduce a new mid-range smartphone, the OnePlus Z.
