As the'Summer Visitors' outbreak pests in the Gangwon area showed signs of spread, each local government had an emergency.

Suddenly due to the large population, this invisible guest, known as an outbreak pest, hatches trees from October to October, killing trees and damaging them with secretions.

Especially, this year, the larvae of the cicada moth appear in surprise, and the spread continues throughout the country.

Some farmhouses in Yongsan-ri, Sinbuk-eup, Chuncheon-si, are realizing the damage caused by sudden pests.

Farmer Lee Mo (68) complained, "This year, more and more poisonous pests cling to hardwood trees, such as fruit trees, to eat leaves, or sometimes drop to the floor, making them uncomfortable."
According to Gangwon-do, the area of cicada moths is the largest with a circumference of about 200ha, and it has a total of 512ha, including Hoengseong 104ha and Chuncheon 6.3ha.

The agency said that it was roughly three times more than last year.

The mass of cicada moths this year is believed to have been caused by larvae passing through the winter without dying eggs due to the unusually high temperatures that led to warm weather last winter.

In addition, it is analyzed that the number of inhabitants increased due to the increase in temperature, which came earlier than the previous year, and that the incubation period of this year is about one week ahead of last year.

In recent years, abnormal climates, such as early high-temperature phenomena, are reducing the cycle of generation of insects from larvae to adults.

The Kangwon-do Forest Science Research Institute is also strengthening its forecasts by issuing forecasts of damages earlier than usual.

Yunji Yoon Kangwon Provincial Forest Science Research Institute researcher said, "In the case of cicada moth, the number of mortality seems to have increased due to a decrease in the mortality rate in winter last year, and the occurrence time seems to be more than 10 days earlier than last year."

Earlier, Gangwon-do Forest Research Institute issued an outbreak forecast for the yellow-backed winged moth on the 2nd.

In addition, the municipality's clean-up operation was pushed forward two weeks earlier.

Chuncheon City has been putting in control work since the beginning of last month, and is putting out exertion every day except for one day a week.

This is because preemptive control is important in the fable process, where insects become adults from eggs.

In the Chuncheon area, cicada moths occurred in July last year, causing damage such as erosion of branches over 38ha or deterioration of growth.

In addition, recently, a larva of a yellow-yellow back wing moth has also been found in Bonguisan, Chuncheon, and is gaining attention.

The yellow-backed winged moths flocked four years ago, mass-occurring all over the city, and appeared last year, 105 ha, causing considerable damage.

This moth gathers in the sun in the daytime because it is active at night, and at night it flocks under street light, causing great inconvenience to residents' lives.

In fact, Songam-dong's night stadium lighting system was crowded with tens of thousands of moths that became adults in the summer, and the game was canceled.

An official from Chuncheon-si said, "As we enter the summer season, we are focusing on early control because the population is expected to increase, but suddenly a large number of difficulties are found."
