Recently, there has been a complaint that'black powder' is mixed with tap water in apartments in Yangju-si, Gyeonggi Province. Authorities have entered the analysis of ingredients.

<Reporter> I

tried tap water in my home sink.

Unidentified black powder is mixed with water.

When drained, the black powder remains sharp enough to form a band on the edge.

[Lee Mi-jin/Samsung-dong, Yangju-si, Gyeonggi-do: If you don't use detergent, it won't be erased. If children say that they are going to shower, they will not shower with this water.]

This phenomenon has been happening in apartments such as Samsung-dong and Deokgye-dong in Yangju-si, Gyeonggi Province since the end of last month.

The Yangju Waterworks Management Group received more than 30 related complaints over two days, and more than 60 posts said that the local online community suffered the same damage.

[Seosong-yi/Samsung-dong, Yangju-si, Gyeonggi-do: Children eat barley tea, water, and shower and rinse, and I'm worried about family use.] As

civil complaints continued, the Water Resources Corporation conducted a water quality test and analyzed the ingredients for black powder. I went into.

The construction officials postponed the fact that most of the affected households turned black powder when they turned on the hot water, and currently, it is unlikely that the pollution occurred at the water purification plant stage.

[Kim Hoon-ki/Yangju Waterworks Management Division Equipment Operation Team: It has been confirmed that foreign substances come out only on the hot water side. Perhaps there is a problem with the hot water piping side.]

However, we have not yet figured out why the same phenomenon occurs simultaneously in more than five apartment complexes.

The Korea Water Resources Corporation announced that it will come up with measures as soon as the results of the analysis of the ingredients for black powder appear.
