Samsung imagined an outdoor TV - Geeko

After conquering the living room TV market, Samsung is launching outdoor models with Terrace. This 4K TV has been designed to be viewed outside, even in daylight, but also to withstand various weather conditions. This is why the Terrace is waterproof against dust and water, with a protection index of 55. Above all, it has a luminous capacity of 2,000 nits which allows it to adapt to the external luminosity and be visible even in direct sunlight.

Despite its tenacity against the elements, the 4K TV takes shape in a rather elegant frame with a thickness of 59 mm. Easy to use, the Terrace "only requires a power outlet and mounting" to get started, says Samsung. The Korean manufacturer nevertheless launches in parallel a bar of its thought for the exterior, the Terrace Soundbar.

When it comes to clean TV, Samsung's smart TV is comparable to Samsung's standard high-end QLED models. It has full local attenuation, extended quantum colors, anti-reflective coating, as well as ambient modes for scrolling through photos, for example.

Very high-end

Obviously, all this at a price and the Terrace has what it takes to compete with the most high-end models from Samsung. The standard 55-inch model is displayed at $ 3,455, a nice amount that can go up to $ 6,499 for the 75-inch model. Given the resistance and the characteristics they must have to withstand the outdoors, televisions designed for the great outdoors are particularly expensive and Samsung is rather in the price range practiced in the sector. The Korean manufacturer also plans to launch a "professional" version in the coming months.

Terrace televisions are now available in the United States and Canada and are expected to arrive in Europe very soon, particularly in Germany and other countries later this year.
