The ear-toothed symmetry is the largest freshwater clam. When it grows up to 30 cm in size. This unfamiliar clam was declared the endangered species of wild animals and plants in 2005. They live in the Geumgang and Nakdong River watersheds, and Gyeongnam and Jeonbuk are known as major habitats. Within 2m of water, they filter and eat organic matter in the mud. When the drought was severe in June 2012, the top of Daesan Reservoir in Nonsan, Chungcheongnam-do, and the budget Yedang Reservoir exposed the bottom, and ear-tooth symmetry was found in the mud. Despite the rescue efforts, drought caused many individuals to die unfortunately.

About a month ago, ear tooth symmetry was first discovered in the Sejong New Town area. New habitats have been identified. The place where rare shellfish lives is the waterway within the planned site of the Central Park Phase 2 project next to Lake Park. LH Sejong Headquarters conducted an actual investigation into the environmental protection of the eldest son. The field investigation was conducted by Dr. Hwang-gu Lee of Sangji University. On the 9th of last month, Lee's team investigated 900 m of the central waterway in three sections and found 12 ear symmetry in one section. 9 living clams and 3 dead individuals. They are grown adults. Prof. Lee said that due to the depth of the water, he surveyed the floor with his feet, so there are more uncovered ear-toothed symmetry, including young shellfish.

Most of the freshwater clams found in the waterways on this day were symmetrical and pearl clams. The number of symmetric teeth was 257, and the number of pearl clams was 201. Symmetrical and pearl clams are not rare freshwater clams. The shape looks similar to the ear symmetry. Dr. Hwang-Goo Lee said, "Pearl and symmetry were found at the edge of the waterway, and ear-tooth symmetry was found at the center of the depth." The mud in the area where ear tooth symmetry lives is more than 30 cm deep, so the habitat is good, Lee added.

In the spring of 2013, the 'Gold Frog' was discovered in the first stage of the Central Park near the place where the ear tooth symmetry lives. The Golden Frog is a legal information species designated as Endangered Species Level II. LH captured the gold frog and moved it to the second stage business site where ear tooth symmetry was found. It has provided organic rice farming with water supply, and is monitoring it annually to protect the new frog's habitat. Although controversy has long been preserved for the conservation of the gold frog, the rice paddy that is to be left as symbiotic fields reaches 220,000 square meters.

The ear symmetry is the host of larvae. It is said that it grows into a young clam after attaching it to the gills or fins and parasitic for about a month before falling off. It is moving its habitat along the fish. Sejong Lake Park and Central Park site were the Jangnam Plains of Yeoni-gun before the development of the new city center. The Geum River flows right next to it, and it is farmed with Geum River water. Ear-toothed symmetry has been delayed, but it is very likely that he had been living in the waterway muds of Sejong field for a long time.

However, in the environmental impact assessment conducted prior to the development of the park, not only LH, the project operator, but also the Ministry of Environment, a consultative agency, could not confirm the habitat of the endangered first-class ear-toothed symmetry. In particular, the Department of Environmental Impact Assessment, Geumgang Environment Agency, revealed that the ear symmetry was not reported to the endangered department in the organization even after receiving the results of the form survey from LH.

LH said that the waterway where ear tooth symmetry was found was originally a conservation area, and he said he plans to take protective measures. When construction begins, it is planned to install a sediment leakage barrier, a sedimentation site, and an anti-contamination film. A method for reducing habitat disturbance was proposed by Prof. Hwang-gu Lee, who conducted a form survey by ear tooth symmetry.

The habitat of wild animals and plants should be respected. You should also look for invisible places and do not destroy them. Various creatures are objects of coexistence to live with.
