It's time for deconfinement in France, something to cheer up a lot of people and especially ... hackers. After trying to take advantage of confinement and telework to steal our personal data, on Zoom for example, or via false exit certificates, they return to attack. Hackers are thus trying to take advantage of the Covid-19's screening devices to extort our data.

Fake SMS, real scam
The scam comes in the form of an SMS that you receive on your mobile. It says: "A person with whom you have been in contact has tested positive for Covid-19. It is recommended that you isolate yourself or be tested. For more information, click on the link". In appearance, it is credible. This SMS could be linked to the work of the test brigades, deployed in several countries to test the inhabitants and identify people in contact with the sick (the so-called "contact tracing" system).

It is not so. The link included in the SMS is actually a phishing attempt. By clicking on it, you are asked for information which may subsequently allow hackers to steal your personal or banking data. For now, this scam has been spotted in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia. But it could arrive very quickly in France.
Do not give your bank details
The Directorate General of Health has therefore taken the lead. She has already assured that, as part of the work of the test brigades, people who have been in contact with a coronavirus patient detected will not be contacted by SMS but only by phone, orally.

Health Insurance reminds RTL that the "contact tracing" process does not at any time require you to communicate your bank details and therefore recommends the greatest vigilance towards requests of this kind.
