During the Lee Myung-bak administration, a probation for execution of imprisonment was confirmed to Kim Jin-mo, a former Blue House civil affairs secretary, accused of illegally taking charges of special activities for the National Intelligence Service.

The Supreme Court's Division 3, Supreme Court Justice Min Yoo-sook, said that the trial of the former secretary Kim, who was accused of embezzlement for work, confirmed the centrifugal sentence of two years in prison for one year in prison.

In April 2011, former secretary Kim was accused of receiving 50 million special activity expenses from the National Intelligence Service to 'shut down' the secretary of the Office of Public Ethics and Support in the Prime Minister's Office, Jang Jin-soo, who exposed suspicions of illegal inspections by civilians.

The prosecution saw the act as an embezzlement of the NIS budget and applied the alleged embezzlement to former secretary Kim.

In addition, as he received money from the position of assisting the president, he considered it as expensive, and also applied for bribery charges under the special price law.

Among the first and second trials, only the alleged embezzlement was convicted, and the alleged bribery was innocent.

At the time, the court said, "This case is a crime that embezzled the national treasury for other purposes against the national intention of using the National Intelligence Service's special expenses to be used for information gathering or investigation for national security." "It's never been light in terms of participation," he said.

However, on the alleged bribery charges, it was considered innocent, saying that there was insufficient evidence to receive 50 million won in relation to the civil affairs office.

The Supreme Court also confirmed the judgment by saying, "There are no mistakes, etc., that misunderstand related laws."
