For the wife of former homeland minister, Professor Kyung-Shim Chung, the court decided not to extend the arrest period. Accordingly, Professor Chung will be released tomorrow night (9 days) after the redemption period expires.

Reporter Kang Cheong-wan reports.

<Reporter> The

prosecution asked on the 28th of last month to extend the deadline to the court in charge of Professor Jeong Kyung-Shim's case.

While presenting the suspicion of the transaction of nominations that were not included in the previously issued arrest warrant and the allegation of teacher of evidence eradication, an additional 240 pages of opinions were submitted stating that there was concern about the destruction of evidence.

In response, Prof. Chung responded that it was a typical redemption and delivered over 68,000 petitions to the court for release.

After reviewing both sides' claims and allegations, the court said it would not issue additional warrants for Professor Chung.

Professor Jeong decided that there is no possibility of escaping and there is little possibility of evidence destruction because evidence has already been investigated for allegations such as forgery and citation.

As a result, Professor Chung will be released from the Seoul Detention Center before midnight tomorrow when the redemption period expires.

On October 24th of last year, it has been 200 days since the arrest of evidence for private equity and allegations of illegal admission to children.

The court announced on the 14th that it will announce that it may issue additional warrants for future destruction of evidence or attempted escape.
