Jeju Island has attracted the most tourists since the Corona 19 incident as people who want to enjoy the golden holiday continue.

According to data released by the Jeju Tourism Association, about 160,000 tourists visited Jeju for five days from the 29th of last month to yesterday (3rd), one day before the holiday.

The first increase in tourist numbers was the Buddha's arrival on the 30th of last month, when the golden holiday began, and the number of tourists arrived on the day reached 47,000. This is more than 2,500 more than the public holidays last year.

The association predicted that by adding the number of tourists visiting Jeju by Children's Day on the 5th, a total of 200,000 visitors will be recorded during the stepping stone holiday.

It has also been pointed out that it was virtually impossible to 'place social distance' due to crowds gathered all over Jeju. Especially on the afternoon of the 3rd, it rained, and crowds were attracted to indoor tourist attractions such as Seogwipo Yeomiji Botanical Garden and theme museum.

Because of the sudden temperature rise, the appearance of wearing a mask on the chin or not at all was noticeably increased. Jeju Island's quarantine authorities said, "The site monitoring shows that the rate of wearing tourist masks outside of Jeju is around 60%."

Jeju Island has thoroughly inspected visitors for fever and symptoms by introducing a special arrival procedure at Jeju Airport from the 30th of last month. The heat detection standard was also strengthened from 37.5 degrees to 37.3 degrees.
