▲ An accident helicopter near Cheonwangbong in Jirisan

Today (1st), a fire helicopter that crashed near the top of Cheonwangbong, Jirisan Mountain, Sicheon-myeon, Sancheong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, said the fire agency seemed to have had an accident during rescue operations at a low altitude.

The accident helicopter left the air rescue team in Hapcheon-gun, South Gyeongsang Province at 11:28 am after receiving a request for a rescue.

Then, around 12 o'clock, I arrived at the 400 ~ 500m road from Cheonwangbong in Jirisan to the direction of Beopgyesa and started rescue activities.

Helicopters attempted to rescue the victim by floating low in the air and stopping the stretcher for transportation to a hoist (small crane).

But for some reason, the helicopter crashed.

Five of the crew members on the helicopter, such as the captain, vice-captain, mechanic, rescue and paramedics, were not seriously injured because the height of the fall was not high.

The aircraft was not damaged as well.
However, it was known that one other hiker was seriously injured in addition to one rescuer at the bottom of the helicopter.

The fire department estimated that the injured and other climbers who were accompanying him seem to have been injured because they could not avoid falling helicopters.
