The video game sector is benefiting from the period of containment with record turnover. But faced with such a craze, the Nintendo Switch has become a rare object. The console of the Japanese manufacturer is now almost not found in official stores and on e-commerce sites, reports Bloomberg on Monday.

The release of the Animal Crossing game has certainly boosted sales, but it is the coronavirus crisis that may explain the lack of consoles on the market. In fact, subcontractors who manufacture components for the Nintendo Switch had to close their factories, causing a slowdown or even a stop in production, which is mainly located in China.

Soon in stock

This Monday, April 27, no console was sold on Amazon, except by third-party sellers on the marketplace, explains BFMTV. Installed abroad, they charge exorbitant prices. On other sites, such as Fnac, it is indicated that the product will be "soon in stock". On Cdiscount, if consoles are still available, it is necessary to buy a pack with a game included.

For those who would like to enjoy a console immediately, they can get the Nintendo Switch Lite. This portable version is sold for 100 euros cheaper but is not as complete.
