OnePlus licenses in three European countries: Germany, the United Kingdom and France, reports the specialized site Endgadget , this Monday. The firm is making "organizational changes," she said in a statement released on Saturday.

Twenty employees are affected by this downsizing, which only applies to Europe. The group's new strategy aims to strengthen its teams "in the Nordic region and in the Benelux". The company would refocus its operations in Helsinki.

Between deletions and relocation

The subject of these redundancies, however, remains vague. Especially since the press release stresses that OnePlus' strategy consists of opening new positions as well as relocating "some of the existing European staff". It is not known how many French employees are affected. However, the automaker says it will offer "redundancy plans in accordance with local regulations".

The Chinese brand, which has 2,000 employees around the world, does not seem to have made this decision following the crisis linked to the epidemic of Covid-19, specifies Presse-Citron . In the summer of 2019, layoffs were announced in Italy and Spain. Since then, OnePlus has closed its branches in these two countries.

This wave of dismissals comes a few days after the presentation by the Chinese manufacturer, despite the confinement, of its OnePlus 8/8 Pro. A smartphone with new 5G connectivity and a 120 Hz screen.
