• New bug in Apple: a single letter renders your iPhone useless
  • iPhone Alert about a security flaw in your email app

It seems incredible that a single word can have enough 'strength' to lock your phone, but it is something that has happened on more than one occasion with iPhones. The last great case was in 2018 and, now, there is again a viral message that wreaks havoc despite its simplicity.

We are not going to reproduce in writing the specific characters that are causing problems on the iPhone, but the message that is causing the errors looks like the following:

When an iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch receives a notification with these words in the Sindhi language, accompanied often, but not always, by the emoji of the Italian flag, it leads to paralysis of the devices, even their shutdown in some occasions.

The origin of this new viral message points to a Telegram group. Right now, the message is viral on social media, so until Apple releases an update to prevent this glitch, it's important to be careful.

It's unclear why Apple products sometimes crash with characters in rare languages, but generally, their fix doesn't take long. According to the first investigations, the new version of iOS (13.4.5) already includes a fix for this problem.

If you are very concerned that this may affect you, the only solution at the moment is to disable notifications on the iPhone. Be that as it may, if this fault affects you, when you turn the phone off and on, it should work normally again, although interacting with the message that caused the fault may cause it to crash again.
