Apple stops selling iPhone 8 - Geeko

No sooner has it lifted the veil on its new affordable smartphone, a modernized version of the iPhone SE, than Apple has already removed one of its old models from its online store.

A withdrawal that we can obviously understand. Released three years ago, the iPhone 8 today played the role of entry-level smartphone, a role now taken up by the new generation iPhone SE.

It also takes up certain specificities of the iPhone 8, with a very similar design, an identical screen size and some of its functions, from the Home button to the Touch ID.

Strong arguments

Note however that the iPhone SE is better than its predecessor in terms of power since it has an A13 Bionic chip, which also equips the iPhone 11. What to ensure certain performance.

This argument alone would have naturally convinced Apple customers to turn to the iPhone SE rather than the iPhone 8, for the purchase of an affordable smartphone. Moreover, the fact that the iPhone SE is sold 489 euros, or 50 euros cheaper than the iPhone 8, has definitely put it in the closet. The iPhone 8 Plus is also hatched on the Apple site.

For iPhone 8 owners, rest assured. It will continue to be updated for at least two years, Apple having the habit of providing software support for its smartphones for a period of five years after their release.
