A Chinese professor who collapsed from acute myocardial infarction in Seoul two years ago and survived as an emergency measure returned to Korea with 1,000 masks to prepare for Corona 19.

According to the city of Seoul on the 7th, Professor Gong Haiyan of Shandong University, China, recently sent 1,000 masks with a letter to the Seoul Tourism Policy Department.

Professor Gong said in a letter, "I continued to think about how the warm love given by the city of Seoul in 2018 will be inscribed on my chest and how to reciprocate." I wrote.

In September 2018, Professor Gong attended the '7th UNWTO World City Tourism Conference' held in Seoul and lost consciousness after a myocardial infarction.

Nurses on the scene and the operation team of the event took first steps, such as chest compressions, and the 119 paramedics who arrived soon moved to the National Medical Center while performing CPR.

After undergoing emergency surgery, Professor Gong was able to restore consciousness in two days.

At that time, the city of Seoul helped him in many ways, such as by issuing visas and interpreting for professors' families and school officials to enter Korea.

Prof. Gong said he returned to China two weeks later and said, "It was an event in Seoul, so even after this accident, I was able to recover my health."

Yong-tae Joo, director of the Seoul Metropolitan Tourism and Sports Bureau, said, “It would not have been easy to find a mask in China, but I am very grateful for this precious connection.
