Chun Doo-hwan, who was called to Gwangju for the first time last year, 39 years after the May 18 Democratization Movement, is expected to stand in Gwangju's court again. Chun Doo-hwan said that the newly revised court should be on trial on the 27th of this month.

The last trial of Chun Doo-hwan's defamation was held in December of last year.

The Witness newspaper was in full swing, but suddenly the judge in charge resigned in early January.

For the next four months, the proceedings had been suspended, and recently a new court was opened and the trial was resumed.

The new judge said the resignation of the former judge renewed the proceedings, and that the former judge's permission to abstain from attendance was also canceled.

He added that defendant Chun Doo-hwan should be present at the next trial on the 27th.

Chun Doo-hwan again stood in Gwangju court after a year in attendance in March last year.

The lawyers of the former Mr. Jeon said that the defendant's attendance was a matter of trial and that public opinion was being judged.

[Jeong-Joo Chung / CEO Doo-Hwan Chun: I don't think it is justified to blur the nature of the trial. In the end, the defendant's attendance proceedings would be more than just a public opinion trial through the disgraceful cycle. .]

As the court changed, Chun Doo-hwan was again in court in Gwangju in a year, but it seems unlikely that it will be easy to hear the words of apology again from the viewpoint of Mr. Chun.
