What is better to entertain yourself during confinement than to spend a game? Indeed: going back to playing that game over and over again in an almost unhealthy way. Bleed is a somewhat atypical two-dimensional shooter that plays on this. Have you passed it So, without more? What a bum.

The story is simple, but it meets - reminiscent of One Punch Man - enough to entertain. We put ourselves in the shoes of Wyrn, a girl who wants to be a hero and for this she decides to take on all the heroes there are. A seamless plan. Despite the simple, there is room for comedy and even script turns. But here we have come to shoot shots .

Gameplay - and replayability , as we will see shortly - is the key. The first games are to acclimatize, see what this is about and earn a little money with which to buy upgrades. As we move forward we will reach new levels, more weapons and a -literal experience; No leveling up here - it will make every finished screen look different. A sweet tooth looking for a challenge: get a better score.

The controls are simple, but mastering them takes a little time. The left stick, of course, moves Wyrn, while the right one shoots his weapons -if they are firearms, that there are also katanas- in the direction they point. The rest of the buttons can be ignored with the exception of the triggers, with which it jumps (this movement can be chained three times) and a key bullet time is activated.

The multiplayer mode does not bring many new features (none, to be honest), but that does not mean that it is not worth playing as a family, as a couple or whatever it is that has given you a quarantine. Two pistols are better than one and if they are accompanied by a missile launcher, so much the better. In this context, of course.

All of this results in frantic action; a salad of shots, jumps and slowed down time that is seasoned with the blood of our enemies. Which, by the way, are sometimes kittens. But that does not stop the orgy of destruction, the sooner the level ends, the sooner we can start again. Now difficult.

TL; DR

What is it? Bleed, a game that is reminiscent of such legendary titles as Castlevania or Metal Slug. And it's funny that it does, because in a way it doesn't look anything like them. It is also the easiest way to feel Neo in the Matrix for a few seconds. Until you hit a wall.

Why should I play now? It is replayable in a way that borders on dementia. You go from finishing a phase in easy mode to wanting to finish it in the most difficult mode without being touched by a single enemy, final boss included. Then, finally, the real challenge begins: to spend the game with a single life. It is done? Well, for its sequel, Bleed 2.

Where do I find it? On Steam (4.99 euros or 12.73 together with Bleed 2), Nintendo Switch (11.99 euros), PlayStation 4 (9.99 euros) and Xbox One (12.99 euros). And when the last boss in extreme mode kills you, in your nightmares.
