ASUS presented a laptop with two screens on Thursday: the Zephyrus Duo 15. The device falls under the so-called Republic of Gamers product line (ROG) from the Taiwanese manufacturer.
The laptop comes in two models: GX550LXS and GX550LWS. The first model can be equipped with a better processor, has a better graphics card and offers slightly more capacity for the working memory as standard.
The regular screen of the Zephyrus Duo 15 covers 15.6 inches and has a resolution of 3,840 by 2,160 pixels. The second screen is located between the first and the keyboard. This touch-sensitive screen has a diameter of 14.1 inches with a resolution of 3,840 by 1,100 pixels.
For example, the second screen should come in handy to move the chat box in games, although developers will have to build that feature manually. ASUS says it has partnered with the developer of Dying Light 2 to make it possible for that game. The company says nothing about other games.
In addition, the second screen can also be used to display other tabs, such as an Internet browser. In this way, gamers can gain an advantage because they can continue to watch their game while looking up information.
ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 goes on sale in May. The cost of two gaming laptop models in Europe has not yet been announced.
