On the 19th, prosecutors investigating suspicions over the merger between Samsung C & T and Cheil Industries summoned Choi Ji-sung (69), former Samsung Future Strategic Officer (vice-chairman) and Kim Jong-joong (64), former US President.

The Seoul Central Prosecutor's Office of Economic Criminal Criminals (Prosecutor Lee Bok-hyun) called Choi and President Kim earlier this morning to ask about the entire decision-making process within the head of the group during the merger between Samsung C & T and Cheil Industries.

They worked together in the US at the time of the merger.

Choi has been leading the US for five years since 2012, and Kim was head of the strategy team at the time.

The prosecution called several senior executives of Samsung and this year this year to investigate whether the merger was part of Lee's (52) reorganization of corporate governance for Samsung Electronics vice chairman.

The prosecution, which first made investigations on allegations of 'scattering accounting', has focused its investigations into identifying illegal activities related to the merger since the end of last year.

Senior executives who appear to have been involved in decision-making mergers are being investigated and observed that investigations into the allegations of merger are in their final stages.

Lee Jae-yong's vice-president will also be investigated soon.
