As the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) spreads in Daegu, the Daegu Office of Education is considering delaying the opening of elementary, middle and high schools.

The City Board of Education announced today that it will set up an emergency task force with the superintendent Kang Eun-hee as the class leader, recognizing the current situation as "severe."

Aside from the Blue House measures meeting attended by national superintendents of the nation this morning, an emergency meeting will be held by the deputy superintendent to prepare countermeasures.

According to the situation, the city office of education is actively considering delaying the opening of elementary, middle, and high schools that are about 10 days ahead.

We are also considering stopping the opening of school sports facilities to the public.

Earlier, the city office of education ordered the ban on “Before School,” an orientation for middle and high school freshmen.

During the break, high school supplementary classes are not allowed unless it is the wish of a high school student.

In addition, a 31-determination patient was closed to a kindergarten where a hospital nurse's child was admitted.

Park Jae-hong, Director of Education at the Daegu Office of Education, said, “When accurate data is passed through the Disease Control Headquarters or Daegu City, we will discuss detailed measures with the relevant agencies such as the Ministry of Education.”
