A group of professors from the four Degrees taught at the University Center of Plasencia (Cáceres) have launched a program to "relax" through hugs and promote positive thoughts in students just before facing exams.

The project is born from the Teaching Innovation Group University of Welfare of Extremadura (GIDUBEx), which is dedicated to work in the promotion of transversal competences with activities grouped around three lines of action: positive thinking and self-motivation, healthy living habits and sociocultural activities

Under the title of BEBA (Well Being for Good Learning), this group of teachers, aware of the value of relaxation and dressed in t-shirts in which you can read 'Gift hugs' and 'I have hugs, sorry if I infect you' , has decided to perform "hug therapy" with the students just in the minutes before the exams.

In addition, once the students are seated and before distributing the exams in question , they take a relaxing guided breath of a voluntary nature to activate the parasympathetic and reduce nervous tension, as reported by the University of Extremadura in a note.

Similarly, in each of the exam rooms, balloons and positive messages have been placed: "Tranquilx, breathe" , "Everything is fine" and "You can" .

Students, according to comments made in the halls, appreciate these measures and recognize that "this is not done anywhere."
