The Russian anthropomorphic robot-cosmonaut, who is supposed to replace Fedor, will carry out dangerous work on board the International Space Station instead of the crew.

This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the materials of the Cosmonaut Training Center.

It is noted that "at the second stage, it is planned to conduct research on the possibilities of using an anthropomorphic robotic system on board the ISS Russian segment in order to replace the crew in hazardous and routine operations" in order to increase the efficiency of the scientific and applied research program.

As specified, it is planned to finalize an anthropomorphic robot like "Fedor".

The robot will go to the ISS on the new manned spacecraft Orel, which is currently being developed in Russia.

Earlier it was reported that in Russia at the beginning of 2020, an anthropomorphic robot will be tested, which will deal with waste disposal in radioactive canyons.
