Pokémon Go had the biggest annual revenue in 2019 in its four years of existence, reports The Verge . Last year, users spent the equivalent of 810 million euros in the Niantic game, says the agency specializing in mobile marketing Sensor Tower. The most profitable year so far has been 2016, the year it was created. The game then generated revenue of around 750 million euros.
In the meantime, the profits generated by Pokémon Go have dropped. But the creators of the program knew how to go up the slope thanks to updates of their application and new features. Team Rocket characters as well as new combat rules, for example, appeared in 2019 and generated profit peaks. Events organized around the game also contributed to its better financial performance.

In 2019, users spent the most money in the U.S., Japan, and Germany to unlock game features. Pokémon Go has become one of the few most profitable games on Android - surpassing iOS - and totaled almost 54% of the revenue generated on Google Play, reports Sensor Tower.
The average profit made for each download of the Niantic application reached around 5.12 euros last year. Since its launch, Pokémon Go has brought the company nearly 2.8 billion euros.
