A civil society 'political mothers' submitted a petition to the National Human Rights Commission of Korea to correct gender-gender discrimination of infant goods.

On Monday, the group claimed that some baby products on the market violated the human rights of children by gender regardless of function. Infant nipples, infant clothes, stationery and toys, pink is for girls and blue is for boys.
In addition, toys that define playing house as mother's play impose old-fashioned gender role stereotypes on children that regard housework and care work as women only. It was reported that the group collected and presented discriminatory cases in a survey conducted in December of last year.

Nam Gung-soo, a activist, said, "We hope that the Human Rights Commission will not overlook the prevailing gender discrimination and make common sense decisions as soon as possible."
