Lenovo has postponed the Motorola Razr with a folding screen for an unknown time. According to the company, the demand for the device exceeds the number that would initially go into production. Exactly how many devices are involved is unclear.
The Motorola Razr was to be launched in the United States in January. Manufacturer Lenovo does not expect a "noticeable shift" from this plan, but does not make clear when the smartphone will become available.
"Motorola has decided to adjust the pre-sale and launch of the Razr to meet demand," the statement said to the American news site The Verge, among others. "We are working on determining the right amount and planning to ensure that more consumers have access to the Razr when it comes out."
The Razr is a new version of the popular folding telephone from the first decade of the 21st century. The Android smartphone has a foldable 21: 9 screen of 6.2 inches on the inside. On the outside there is a 2.7 inch screen with a 4: 3 aspect ratio.
It is unclear whether Lenovo has plans to market the Razr in the Netherlands. In the United States the device will cost 1,500 dollars (around 1,350 euros).
