Google Photos has developed a new feature that makes it possible to send private messages via the service. Google reports this on Tuesday in a blog post.
At this time it is possible to share photos by copying a link to the photo album. If a user wants to share one photo with someone, they must first create their own album.
With the new feature, users can add photos and videos to a private conversation in the app. Users can like these photos, respond to them and save them in their own photo gallery.
"This feature is not designed to replace all chat apps that you already use," explains Janvi Shah, product manager at Google Photos. "But we hope it will improve sharing memories with your friends and family in Google Photos."
The new function will be rolled out in the course of next week.
