A truck caught fire on Tuesday morning at the toll Chamant, on the A1, between Lille and Paris, in the Oise. He allegedly crashed into a barrier after a chase with the gendarmes, creating a traffic jam of about ten kilometers.

A lorry tried to escape a road check, rushing under a toll at Chamant, in the Oise, before igniting. This incident caused a major traffic jam on the A1 motorway, which connects Lille and Paris.

The accident occurred around 10 am and caused a traffic disruption in both directions of traffic. This allowed the intervention of the helpers. On the axis where the truck was driving, towards Paris, a stop about ten kilometers was observed.

The driver arrested

"A truck refused to stop and deliberately crashed into the Chamant toll ... The truck is currently on fire under the toll," said a Sanef official (Northern Highways and Waterways Corporation). 'East of France), who is the manager of the A1, in the morning.

According to the gendarmerie, cited by 20 Minutes, the vehicle was pursued by a patrol and refused to stop, going against the order of gendarmes. Only the percussion of the heavyweight with a toll barrier would have put an end to the chase. The driver was arrested.

After advising the motorists to bypass the place of the accident much of the morning, the Sanef indicated the reopening of the A1 initially towards Lille, then towards Paris around mid-day.
