It is analyzed that the psychological state of prisoners living with prisoners every day in a special place called prison is dangerous. Sudden situations occur frequently in closed spaces and assaults and verbal abuses by inmates have no place to complain.

I look deeply into the issue report, and reporter Kim Min-jung and Jeong Kyung-yoon.

Uijeongbu Prison in Gyeonggi-do, the prison officers can not use the mobile phone when the work begins.

Disconnection from the outside is the same as inmate.

A total of seven doors passed through the entrance to the receiving wing.

I work in this closed environment except for 30 minutes of lunch time.

At night when there are frequent outbreaks such as inmate harassment, the number of employees is reduced by half.

Many are assaulted by inmates.

[Jang Kyu Soon / Kyo-Gwan: There was a case where the prisoner was assaulted because she didn't treat her as she wanted. When I was right, the mental stress really goes up as I said before the pain.]

Last year, 231 assaults and verbal abuses against prison guards and more than 1,800 inmates sued and accused prisoners.

[Jang Sun-sook / Kyowon: I suddenly got a complaint. It's too hard. I can't control the night streets… I couldn't tell it all to my family. There is a security problem.]

How are the guards being treated?

This is a psychotherapy center. There are 12 such facilities nationwide.

But even this is a facility for prisoners, and prisoners cannot use it.

In the prison guard's counseling journal, an outside expert often appealed to vague fears of incidences of inmates, isolation from society, and lethargy due to negative gaze, but often suppressed these concerns.

There have been 22 guards who have made extreme choices over the past five years.

[Kang Mi-jeong / Legal Affairs Department outside counselor: Suicide rate in the job group itself is a bit high. Prisoners are a bit more affected if they commit suicide or if a colleague has committed a suicide in the hall.]

Compared to the police and fire officials, there is a negative perception and working in closed spaces, it is difficult to obtain social consensus to improve the treatment of prison officers.

[Sung-Ho Chung / Deputy Democratic Party Member of Parliament]: The role of the correction is to correct and rehabilitate criminals and return them to normal society.

Professional inmates, prisoners and public officials are what prison guards call themselves.

It was no exaggeration to see us looking into their daily lives.

Mental health of the guards, if left unattended, is also difficult to rehabilitate prisoners.
