There have been reports of voice phishing since the police have recently installed a security app. Criminal organizations have downloaded fake apps similar to real police service apps and tore up money, costing $ 7.4 billion.

This is a report by Jeon Yeon-nam.

In December last year, 30-year-old Park Mo received a call from a man named Seoul Central Prosecutor's Office that his name was stolen from a criminal account.

When I withdrew my account balance and sent it back, I would investigate it and return it to him.

Even though you might suspect voice phishing, Mr. Park was so easily deceived by the National Police Agency's security app.

For security reasons, I told them the IP address where they can download the police station security app and actually installed it.

[Mr. Park / Voice Phishing Scam Victim: I had a logo from the National Police Agency, contact information or a police cybercrime.

It looked the same as the police's 'Paul-Anti Spy' app, which detects 247 malicious apps, but it was a malicious app that blocks victim reports.

When the victim calls the police, the prosecution, the bank, etc., the app connects to the crime organization call center, not the agency.

It was distributed to 938 people, and 211 people were actually 7.3 billion won in fraud.

In addition to the police app, the police also discovered a gang that created and distributed malicious apps that imply financial institutions including the prosecutor's office and the FSS.

Police arrested more than 140 people, including developers of malicious app programs, who committed voice phishing and arrested nearly half of them.

The police continued to investigate to catch people involved in the crime and told them they should get it from the official store when downloading the app.
