The founders of the right-wing extremist forum 8chan intend to bring the forum back under a new name. The administrators search for new members for '8kun' on Twitter.
The 8chan forum came in the news a few months ago, as the site would incite deadly shootings in the United States. Suspicious manifests of gunmen appeared several times on the site and later killed people. The man left a message that shot 22 people in El Paso.
The 8chan Twitter account announces the new site in a short film. "Kun" is used in Japan to refer to a teenage boy, while "chan" is for children.
The new forum is not yet online at the moment. It is also not clear when that will happen. It is striking that the site is registered with Tucows, the company that suspended 8chan in August. That's what Vice writes. The provider has not yet responded to questions.
