The installation of the RGPD, the European regulation on the protection of personal data, was put in place a year ago. Whenever you go to a website, a tab appears inviting you to read the company's policy to protect your data. But this indication is easily zapped by Internet users. And it's not safe.

The European regulation on the protection of personal data, the famous RGPD, is experiencing a drift of its system, one year after its implementation. While it was intended to protect the data of Internet users, most of them accept, without reading, the general conditions that inform how their personal data will be protected.

Now, to click mechanically, it is sometimes to give a blank check to the illegal exploitation of your digital identity: a number of blue card or telephone, your passwords etc ... Moreover, for many, these conditions are "gibberish", as admits a user at the microphone of Europe 1. They are "too small for me to read and understand," says a user. So many reasons why people click without worrying.

No one safe from hacking

For Damien Bancal, a specialist in the fight against cyber crime, this RGPD, which was supposed to protect personal data, is the victim of users' laxity. "When this small tab appears with the mention 'accept our rules of use and users', who today will read the entire user manual?" Questions the specialist. Because when we dive a little into the details of these "instructions", we can learn a lot. "By reading it, we discover for example that in one of the lines, you will never be able to erase your account", explains Damien Bancal.

The other perverse effect is that even the virtuous company that will have the means to protect your data will not be safe from hacking. In this case, your data will be exposed to go around the world of cyber criminals, and you will have given your prior consent.
