BMW will show the i Hydrogen Next at the international car exhibition in Frankfurt, which lasts until 22 September. With this study model, the brand wants to show that it is still working on hydrogen technology.
In 2022, BMW claims to have hydrogen cars with fuel cells on board. It is not yet clear whether this concerns a test fleet or production models. Then the brand will also share the first technical details. The first hydrogen models from BMW should be available in 2025.
BMW has worked with Toyota for its hydrogen technology to date. Since 2016, that brand has been supplying the Mirai, which is also a hydrogen car. Most of them are driving in The Hague, to transport people with a disability who cannot travel independently.
