The Texan actress gives life in 'Dora and the lost city' to the mother of the famous and television explorer

Known thanks to the series Desperate Women and after having participated in films such as The Shadow of Suspicion or I Love Dogs , Eva Longoria (Corpus Christi, Texas, 1975) gives life in Dora and the lost city to the mother of Dora the explorer. The film, which brings to the screen the adventures of the famous animated television character, is directed by James Bobin ( Alice through the Looking Glass ) and starring Isabela Moner ( Transformers: The Last Knight ).

What did you know about Dora the explorer before shooting this tape? I have not been raised with her because of age, but since it was created 20 years ago she has been present in my home. He is an iconic character for both the Latino community and the entire world. In fact, when it was learned that I would be on this project I received calls from friends who recognized me that they were fans of her. Why do you think Dora is such a popular character? Because it represents optimism and courage. In both the cartoons and now in this film we see a constantly positive Dora. A positivism that does not bother but, quite the opposite, inspires you to improve. I wish more people could see the world the way Dora does. How have you prepared to give life to Elena, Dora's mother? Since the mother has little presence in the television series, I focused mainly on the script and the conversations I had with James Bobin, the director. James recognized me in those talks that I was determined to recreate the world of Dora in the most authentic way possible with actors of flesh and blood. How would you describe Elena as an intelligent woman and a good mother who cares about her daughter. The film shows how Dora, who has been raised with her parents in the jungle, moves to Los Angeles. Yes. And it's funny, because Dora's parents consider the city to be more dangerous than the jungle. That is reflected in a very funny scene in which I and Michael Peña, who gives life to his father, try to advise her. And it is that surviving in the jungle of the school of a great city like Los Angeles can be complicated ... And we lack reason ... I already believe it! Nature is friendlier than certain people. You make a good couple with Michael Peña ... Thank you, the truth is that I enjoyed working at his side as Dora's parents. And it was a true collaboration, since we both contribute ideas and complement each other. He is known for being a specialist when improvising during a shoot. How is it given to you? I love to improvise whenever it is authentic and fits into the context of the scene. It's not about saying funny things because yes, but about improving the sequence with something that starts from the situation and the character. And Michael is a genius precisely because he makes what he improvises real, as well as fun.
