A pileup involving five vehicles left two dead and two seriously injured on the A10 motorway near Blois, told AFP the gendarmerie Loir-et-Cher, Sunday, August 18.

The facts occurred Sunday around 6 o'clock in the direction province-Paris near Santenay (Loir-et-Cher).

"There was a first accident between two vehicles, one of which, in the taxiway, was hit by another vehicle, it is in this vehicle that two people whose driver died", said to the AFP Captain Eric Josse, commander of the departmental road safety squadron of the Loir-et-Cher gendarmerie.

The two dead are a couple of 32 and 34 years old, of Portuguese nationality, who lived in Luxembourg, according to Captain Josse. Their 15-month-old baby, unscathed, was transported under observation to Clocheville Hospital in Tours.

Two other people were seriously injured in two different vehicles, one of which struck business and luggage on the roadway.

The A10 motorway was cut at the height of the accident before reopening in the middle of the morning on a track then two. An investigation was opened, entrusted to the motorized platoon of the Gendarmerie of La Chaussée-Saint-Victor (Loir-et-Cher).
