An investigation was opened in Toulouse after a fire, resulting from an "act of malevolence", which ravaged in the night of Tuesday to Wednesday the mayor of Gauré, a commune east of Toulouse, said the prefecture.
According to a source close to the investigation, the fire "ravaged" the town hall, walk-in, and the building is unusable. The fire did not kill people according to the local press.
Financial support from the State
In a statement, Étienne Guyot, the prefect of the Occitania region and prefect of Haute-Garonne, condemned "with the greatest firmness the malicious act" that led to this fire. He assured that the State would financially support the municipality if this proved necessary.
