According to the Seoul survey, 74.2% of descendants of independent men earned less than 2 million won per month.

Even though he had a proud ancestor, there are many descendants who have a hard life.

As a result, Seoul greatly strengthens its support for descendants of independent merit who have dedicated themselves to the Japanese imperialism.

First, starting next year, low-income independents, children and grandchildren will receive 200,000 won in independent merit living allowances per month.

This includes 3,300 households with basic security benefits or households with a standard median income of 70% or less.

The special supply of national rental housing will also be expanded.

For the descendants of the merit, 178 additional rental housing will be provided in the Godeok Gangil District and Wirye District, which are scheduled to move in next year.

Among the descendants of the merit, 100 university students in Seoul are given a scholarship of 3 million won every year.

[Kang Byeong-ho / Head of Welfare Policy Division, Seoul City: We will support a total of KRW 71.3 billion by 2022 to treat each and every one carefully to ensure that there are no descendants of independent merit who are left out.]

As fraudulent use of preferential transportation card increases, Seoul decided to use big data to devise measures to prevent fraudulent riding of subways.

It analyzes the usage patterns of 1.8 million route preferential transportation cards to catch fraudulent users.

In fact, the analysis showed that 18,000 cards were similar in pattern to the average office worker.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government is planning to notify the subway operators every month by selecting fraudulent users, and is scheduled to start crackdown in September.
