• Sony headphones that want to make it difficult for AirPods
  • The Sony 1000X M3 are the best headphones to isolate you from worldly noise

Sony announced less than a month ago its new bluetooth headphones, the WF-1000XM3. His goal with them is clear: take a part of the market that now corresponds largely to Apple and its AirPods.

I have never been a great fan of AirPods for a simple reason. Although its box is small, its design does not make me an alien with antennae in my ears since they work very well with any mobile, they do not isolate me enough from ambient noise.

I am one of those who suffer from the constant problems of the Madrid Metro, so using the AirPods on my journeys to work to listen to music means putting the volume on all milk in order to cover the noise of the trains. It's something I hate because I want to get old with the eardrums more or less well. And just for that, I always look for alternatives.

So far, I have not found the perfect headphones, but the WF-1000XM3 are a fantastic alternative. Although I have to look at his name every time I have to write it, they are fantastic wireless headphones because they sound good, they have a lot of battery, their design is discreet enough and, above all, they isolate rather better than AirPods.

Not everything is fantastic with them, of course. They have no resistance to water or sweat, so be careful if you take them to run on the gym belt. Nor do they have wireless charging, which I do not care too much because it is not a technology that I trust a lot. And as for the Martian factor ... yes they bulge a little more than I would like, but I can not say that they are ugly headphones or 'antenna'.

Also, that its somewhat larger size makes all the sense in the world. Its battery holds a lot, whether you activate the soundproofing or use them bareback. With sound cancellation activated, they last for almost six hours. Without it, they have reached me almost at eight o'clock. It is difficult to keep track of this, but keep it to last a little less if you use active sound cancellation.

Its box is quite large, like twice that of the AirPods, and should be the most voluminous that I have used for this format of headphones. At least, Sony makes up for it by recharging the full battery of the headphones almost three times, but if you don't carry a bag or a fanny pack, the case will probably bother you in your pocket after a short time.

It is worth using if you go on public transport or if your office colleagues are unscrupulous, but on many occasions, I have at least been able to go without it active and listen to the music at half volume without missing the less intense moments in volume of My favorite songs.

I am not obsessed with taking care of my ears, which I hope will not take its toll in a few years, but I am not listening to music at full speed. I prefer headphones that work as a plug and allow me to put everything at medium volume. In the case of (I look again at its exact acronym) WF-1000XM3, I can do this perfectly. With the AirPods, this is not the case, because I know that I am covering the exterior noise with more interior noise, with greater volume.

The rest of aspects of the, sigh, WF-1000XM3 are details. That you can synchronize them with the mobile through NFC (bringing them closer and that's it) is great. When you put them on your ear, each headset tells you how much battery it has left, too. That they work with Google Assistant, even if you don't use it, it seems fine.

In short, they are more than recommended headphones. The worst thing they have, as almost always with these products, is the price. 250 euros More expensive than the AirPods that are charged without cable, cheaper than the highest-end headphones.

Sony has explained that they are going for a very specific segment of the market, which in other words means that those who want to spend less than 50 euros on headphones better to continue looking for Amazon these oversized clones and that break in two weeks of the airpods.

I can praise that the company has made such a great leap from its previous bluetooth headphones, which were not the XM3 but the XM1 (Sony's with the names is amazing), because they really make it difficult for Jabra, Bose and many other manufacturers They are there competing with the AirPods.

So being fair with the headphones, the WF-1000XM3 of name impossible to remember give very good service for the price they have. If you have something saved, you want to treat yourself or you are the son of a marquis, they are the best thing you can get in your ear to isolate yourself from the worldly noise with your favorite music, whether at work or in public transport. Although if you are a marquesito, surely you do not know what these last two things are ... Lucky you have.
