The Seoul Central District Public Prosecutor's Office 2 completed the investigation of the humidifier disinfectant after six months of investigation.

It is only eight years since the humidifier disinfectant incident occurred in 2011.

The prosecution indicted three people including Hyun Ji-Hong, former head of SK Chemicals, in relation to the CMIT / MIT humidifier disinfectant, and indicted 15 former and current employees of six companies including Aekyung and Filler Products.

In addition, Aekyung Industrial Co. has been charged with receiving money from millions of won in the Aekyung industry, receiving internal documents from the Ministry of Environment, and being charged with advising deleting data in preparation for prosecution investigation.

A broker from a member of the National Assembly, who was reported to have received tens of millions of won in the Aekyung industry, has been caught in exchange for refraining from recalling a specially designed humidifier disinfectant for Aekyung Industrial employees.

The prosecution also applied the suspicion of violating the special law on humidifier disinfection and handed over four people including SK Chemicals and SK Innovation employees to trial.
