A TER train from Epernay struck a car at the crossing of Avenay-Val-d'Orhanouna, in the Marne, Monday, around 9:45, according to information from Europe 1 confirming those of France Bleue. The four passengers of the car, the drivers and three miners, died. Four passengers on the train were also slightly injured.

According to the first information, the driver of the car would have forced the barriers. "According to the first elements of the investigation, the car was immobilized in the middle of the lane at the time of the collision," adds the site of the local radio. Specialists from the Criminal Investigation Institute of the National Gendarmerie and the criminal identification technicians from the Navy gendarmerie were dispatched to the scene. In particular, they will have to determine whether the three minors were the driver's children.

According to SNCF, all the passengers on the train were transported by coach, with the exception of the four wounded who were taken in charge by the firefighters.
