The name of the game Ion Maiden is changed to Ion Fury to prevent "legal problems with a certain popular heavy metal band". Publisher 3D Realms announced this on Thursday.

The British metal band sued the developer of the upcoming shooting game in May, because the name would evoke the logo of the game associates with Iron Maiden.

Developer 3D Realms, which is also behind the popular title Duke Nukem 3D , says in a statement that the threat of litigation is the main reason for renaming the game.

Ion Fury is coming out on August 15 for the PC. Later on, the game must also become available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
