Streamers on the Twitch video platform will soon be able to start exclusive broadcasts that are only visible to subscribers. The company announced the plans in a blog post.

Twitch mainly shows gamers playing a game. Viewers can talk to each other and the streamer via chat.

When viewers want to support their favorite streamer, they can subscribe to the streamer for 4.99 euros. In exchange, they get to see fewer advertisements and more chat privileges.

Now Twitch wants to make it possible for streamers to start broadcasts that can only be viewed by their subscribers. In this way they can offer subscribers some extras. Viewers who do not pay can only see a short piece of the stream, after which they will see a screen to subscribe.

Twitch emphasizes that the closed streams for subscribers must also comply with all Twitch rules. The streams may be exclusive, but not private.

The exclusive streams are available immediately for streamers with affiliate or partner status.
