A hydrogen tank exploded in a science industrial park in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, yesterday evening. It was an explosion strong enough to hear the explosion even 7 to 8 km away. Two people were killed and six others were injured while touring the complex yesterday, but the exact cause of the explosion is still unknown.

A hydrogen tank exploded at the Gangneung Venture 1 plant in Gangwon Techno Park, Daejeon, Gangneung, about 6:22 pm yesterday evening.

Three 400-cubic-meter hydrogen tanks exploded outside the building, resulting in the death of 37-year-old Mom and Kim Mo and 43-year-old Kim Mo.

The five members of the group, including Kwon Jin-kwon and the wounded, were reported to have been involved in a tour of the factory building after attending seminars with ceramic material companies in the metropolitan area.

It is known that there was a burden once, and the fire department has conducted the search seven times, but it is confirmed that there is no buried person.

It was reported that the company that made the explosion was a manufacturer of fuel cell using hydrogen produced by solar heat and was commissioning the plant from April.

At the time of the explosion, one venture 1 plant of more than 5,000 square meters was completely destroyed, and the second venture plant 2 was also completed.

Witnesses said the explosion was so heavy that it could reach 7 to 8 kilometers away.

Police and the fire department will investigate the cause of the accident as the day comes.
