▲ Grand Grand Hall clashing with Yacht before the collision of Gwangan Bridge

A prosecutor's office said yesterday that a cargo ship crash on the Gwangan Bridge in Busan occurred during the first yacht strike.

The Busan District Prosecutor's Office for Marine and Environmental Crime was charged with the crime of shipbuilding, the violation of the maritime safety law and the violation of the laws related to entering and leaving the ship. He was arrested on suspicion of escaping traffic accidents.

The shipping company was indicted for violating the maritime safety law.

The prosecution handed over the case from the seafarer and found out that the drunken captain S failed to judge the turning distance and the turning angle normally during the escape process and received the Gwangan Bridge.

According to the prosecution, the captain S had an unusual port of departure with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.086% drunk at Yongho Pier in Busan at 3:37 pm on March 28, and was aboard a yacht and a barge 200 meters ahead.

Yongho Wharf, which had a narrow navigation space, had to depart for 'Intership Navigation', which changed the direction of the ship by repeatedly advancing and backward. However, the Grandeur reported that the accident occurred while accelerating forward.

The Sea Grand, which collided with a yacht, was forced to escape from the pier in a way that it could be forcibly swung at high speed without any other relief measures, and it was re-introduced to the Gwangan Grand Bridge underground structure.

Seagull's steering performance required a minimum of 440m in the front if turning at medium output speed, but the collision was inevitable because it was only 350m from the yacht crash point to the Gwangan Bridge.

The prosecutor added that the captain, who was trying to escape after a drinking accident, failed to judge the normal distance and rotation angle.

The prosecution said that Mr. Grand has not taken any steps to confirm the victim after the yacht collision, and that he has responded "I did not crash" to the Maritime Traffic Control Center. He said he was guilty of a traffic accident.

The prosecution said that the construction of the Gwangan Bridge pier will result in a hole 4m wide and 3m long, which will cost 2,840 million won, and it will be partly controlled by the traffic.

The prosecution said, "As a result of the expert analysis, the blood alcohol level was 0.03% or more before the accident," the prosecution said.

A spokesperson from the Busan Prosecutors' Office said, "We will strengthen the drunk driving punishment standards with a high risk of serious accidents in the future," and added, "We will do our utmost to maintain public hearing so that Mr. S will be sentenced to a sentence corresponding to his responsibilities."
