When "Pokémon Go" hit the market in 2016, the game did not just impress with the combination of gaming and real world. Also catching single monsters fascinated many users. The game mounted the image of the cell phone camera using an augmented reality function: they seemed to appear in the real world - depending on the current environment, sometimes in the office, sometimes in the middle of the pedestrian zone.

Many funny and spectacular screenshots have been taken, as well as many less appealing photos where monsters have appeared anywhere in the picture, but unfortunately not where the users would have liked them. A new feature for "Pokémon Go" called "Go Snapshot" now provides a remedy.

"Go Snapshot" should make it easier to take interesting photos with your own Pokémon in real-world environments. Producer Niantic says in his announcement on Tuesday that Pokémon "can be set and photographed at will".

"Taking pictures in a very individual way"

"As soon as a coach has selected a Pokémon and scanned his real environment, he determines the position of the Pokémon on which it should appear on the smartphone," it says in a press release, which comes along with some sample images. "Trainers can interact with their Pokémon to grab their attention - and then take a photo of it in a very individual way, and coaches can then share the photos with their friends."

How spectacular the results will look beyond the advertising images will be shown. In any case, the function should lead to the fact that in the near future numerous new photos with Pokémon in the real world will make the rounds. The manufacturer will certainly be pleased, after all, every image is also advertising for his app.

Incidentally, the "Augmented Reality" feature of "Pokémon Go" was spiced up by Niantic more than a year ago with a mode called "AR +" compared to the initial versions. At first, this mode was only available on iOS, meanwhile it is also available on Android devices.
