A 5-year-old boy stabbed his 13-year-old cousin, who narrowly escaped death after an argument in Tournon-sur-Rhône, Ardeche, for a sweets story, said Friday the gendarmerie.
The facts occurred Wednesday afternoon in a building hall after a dispute between the two cousins for confectionery, said the gendarmerie, confirming information from the regional daily Le Dauphine Libere . "It's a story about kids, the nervous five-year-old went to his house to pick up a knife," according to an investigator.
The little boy remains hospitalized. Injured in the groin, the teenager was hit in the femoral artery. While lying on the ground and losing a lot of blood, a pedestrian patrol of gendarmes was alerted by passersby. One of the soldiers quickly intervened to provide him a point of compression while waiting for the arrival of the helpers. The boy was operated on to stop the bleeding and his days are no longer in danger. He was, however, still being hospitalized on Friday. His cousin should be subject to a social follow-up, according to the gendarmes.
