BMW has been explaining that the exhaust gas recirculation system, called EGR, has leaked cooling water. But we are still talking about it and we do not even know where exactly the problem is. But we tried to cover it and it was the problem that the leak of the coolant had already been a problem five years ago. Police are investigating whether BMW has been hiding it since they know it.

BMW announced in July that after the massive recall of the EGR cooler, San Coolant evaporated and the remaining sediment burned.

Most of the problematic EGR coolers were delivered by domestic firm Corens.

However, five years ago, it was confirmed that Corens had a quarrel with the subcontractor regarding the problem of cooling water drainage.

It is a document sent to Corens in September 2013 by contractor company A who made and delivered EGR parts according to the design diagram of Correns.

The gas tube defective rate, which is part of the EGR cooler, is 40%.

The EGR cooler serves to cool the exhaust gas to 830 degrees with cooling water.

The gas tube is a screen which separates the exhaust gas and the cooling water in the cooler. It is pointed out that because of the design problem, the gap of the tube spreads and the coolant water is scattered everywhere.

[Subcontractor staff: Cracks are inevitable. (Gas tube) part was very dangerous. So I talked to you, but ... ]

Correns acknowledges that the coolant is poured into the gas tube clearance, but he has postponed the responsibility to A.

Eventually, both companies filed a lawsuit. Correns here has filed a complaint to the court that a defective part has been found in the parts supplied by A and that the defective EGR cooler for the BMW used the part.

This problem led to flaws, which led to a serious problem with BMW, which eventually selected components and delivered them to BMW.

[Subcontractor Employee: Talk to the representative directly from Correspondent about the problem where there is a defect in BMW. I went back and forth to BMW in Germany.]

Correns has even warned in his response that a fire could occur if the EGR cooler coolant enters the engine.

SBS asked Correns whether he had informed BMW of such a defect at the time.

[Corens executive: I'm sorry. I can not continue to answer you. (Got a bad gas tube?) That's not true. Not at all.]

The police, who obtained documents and litigation from the two companies, are investigating whether BMW and Corens knew or concealed a cooling water spill.
